Well, my new issue of Food and Wine October 2020 arrived and I flipped through the issue. There are a lot of recipes I want to try in this issue. There is a Sweet-and-Smoky Grilled Cheese Toastie that is inspiring me to do my own Grilled Cheese and Soup recipe. Oooh, maybe I try the Pote’e Champenoise des Vendanges (Grape Pickers Pote’e). I will have to make the Bavarian soft pretzels, yum. Pork Chop au Poivre with Red Wine – Shallot Sauce will be great to try. As an alternative to my regular Sunday pasta dish, I can try the Creamy Tomato Rigatoni. Eddie may like the Coconut Chicken Adobo recipe. Insalata di Pesce…hmmm, with all the shrimp I have, I think I’ll try that as well. For a veggie dish, I can try the Brussels Sprouts with Shrimp Sauce. Butternut Squash soup with Bacon and Creme Fraiche sounds delicious. I will stop down to Dewey’s Produce and get me some Butternut Squash. For a dinner party, I will try the Crackling Coppa Roast with Fennel and Onions. It’s a pork shoulder recipe. I have to do the Winemaker’s Carnitas Tacos and invite all my Mexican food lovers over for this dish. Given Eddie enjoys soups in the cooler weather, he will most likely enjoy the Carolina Fish, Shrimp, and Okra Stew with Black Rice. For dessert I’ll try the Bourbon-Pecan-Apple Pie with Cinnamon Whipped Cream.
I will also get inspired by other recipes to make my own version of some of them. I’m excited to get cooking! Come back soon and check out what I’ve made.
